  1. Logsat for Windows - Program description
  2.  
  3. LogSat for Windows is a revolutionary satellite tracking program. It
  4. incorporates several utilities usually offered by separate programs:3D
  5. antenna radiation diagrams, graphs on ground wave propagation, logbook
  6. manager, locator converter and more.
  7.  
  8.         Features
  9.         ---------
  10.  
  11. - A toolbar like Word 6's (the one where a button description appears when
  12.   the mouse is placed over a button).
  13.  
  14. - Detailed, context sensitive, on line help.
  15.  
  16. - Everything is multitasking. You can track satellites and print out
  17.   satellite schedules while working on the DX cluster or writing a letter.
  18.  
  19. - Nearly unlimited satellite database.
  20.  
  21. - An unlimited (memory allowing...) number of satellite windows can be
  22.   opened at the same time. Each window is independent from the others.
  23.  
  24. - Each satellite window can show and track up to 2000 satellites all at
  25.   once in real time!

  27. - Click on any track with the mouse and it will be highlited, with
  28.   tracking data for that satellite appearing in the left portion of the
  29.   window.

  31. - 5 different map projections are available (Mercator, Equidistant,
  32.   Sinusoidal, Hammer, Orthographic).

  34. - Text tracking windows with fonts that auto-scale according to the
  35.   window's size are available. Put it in a corner on your screen while
  36.   you're doing packet radio to see with a glance what the sat situation is.

  38. - Alarms. When ANY satellite in ANY window becomes visible, the user will
  39.   be warned.

  41. - Each window has 4 recorder-like buttons to control time: fast forward,
  42.   rewind, play and pause.

  44. - Each window can be assigned a time and a date independently from the
  45.   other windows.
  46.  
  47. - When selecting satellites to track from the (sorted) satellite list, the
  48.   satellites in acquisition at the moment will be marked.
  49.  
  50. - The tracking data includes: azimuth, elevation, range, height, squint
  51.   angle, mode, doppler effect, phase, UMD, eclipse, solar panel
  52.   illumination factor, sun angle, orbit number, solar elevation,
  53.   sub-satellite points, latitude and longitude, next AOS (or LOS), and the
  54.   duration of acquisition on the next pass.

  56. - The maps can be 'traveled' with the mouse: the coordinates, locator,
  57.   azimuth and distance from you home position to the point under the mouse
  58.   cursor appear in a popup window.
  59.  
  60. - The Keplerian elements can be easily updated with NASA or AMSAT style
  61.   file formats.

  63. - With just a mouse click decide to leave thick or thin satellite trails,
  64.   place sun terminators, color fill maps, select map colors, line styles
  65.   and more.

  67. - Maps can be automatically centered on your QTH, or can self-center
  68.   themselves on the satellite. All options are user-selectable.

  70. - World time zones can be displayed on maps allowing you to know with a
  71.   glance who's awake and who's sleeping...

  73. - Support for non-standard time zones has been added.

  75. - 3D antenna radiation diagrams.

  77. - Graphs of an antenna's gain and input impedence in a given frequency
  78.   range.

  82. - Graphs of the electring field and attenuation factor for ground wave
  83.   propagation over the earth. Atmospheric refraction can be taken into
  84.   account.

  87.   diffracted around the earth.

  89. - An extremely easy and practical to use logbook manager for HAM radio
  90.   operators. The country beeing connected can be shown on a map.

  94. - A very simple to use locator to lat and longitude (and vice versa)
